Tribhuvan University has decided to indoctrinate 'Good Governance and Corruption Deterrence' subject, in the master level of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. According to the program director, Dr. Yogesh Ranjit, the arrangements are being made to conduct first semester classes of the subject from Bhadra 16 of the current fiscal year. The subject will be a 2 years course which will cost around one lakh seventy three thousand.
Faculty Dean Dr. Shakya puts her view as the need of moving forward with subject of international level and believes that such subjects will prove as a prominent factor in changing the society. It is claimed that TU will be the first university in the world to teach a subject against corruption.
The subject intent to produce experts in the field of corruption control. Corruption is one of the major factors that hold back overall development of a nation. There is a desperate need of expert human resources in controlling the corruption and help maintaining the good governance. The faculty believes in giving such competent and expert resources as the outcome of the subject.
Good governance and development are always supplementary. In absence of good governance sustainable development cannot be attained. Similarly, good governance and rule of law comes hand in hand. The subject entirely focuses on providing the required knowledge and skills to practice good governance, guide and monitor the governance of the nation and preparing experts in the field.
